About Us
New Beginnings Recovery Homes began in 1990 with a single idea. “What type of
“affordable housing” is there for persons who are classified as “socially indigent?” We
are a private, minority, 501(c)3 tax-exempt, not-for-profit, organization, in good standing
with the State of Illinois and the Federal Government.
New Beginnings works with a variety of social service agencies, governmental units,
and community organizations. New Beginnings helps persons who need or require our
assistance regardless of race, color, creed, religious or sexual orientation or cultural
differences.
Clients are put or placed into shared houses or shared apartments. The agency tries to
help enrolled persons access food, clothing, carfare, and other types of social,
supportive and case management services. Clients have access to medical services
through:
- MedPlus, Inc.– Medical Center
- NextLevel, Inc. – Psych Group Therapy
- Haymarket Center – Detoxification
- CORE Center – HIV/AIDs assistance
The recession and the changes that occurred at the State level devastated our agency,
which caused us to shut down our main office and to use temporary offices to regain
our balance. This change has not caused us to shutdown any of our services. It has
merely caused us to function in a different manner to accomplish the same tasks. We
will re-open a main office as soon as we are able and those changes will be posted on
this web site as soon as possible thereafter.
