Welcome to New
Beginnings Recovery Homes Inc. (NBRHI)
Our mission is to provide a
“holistic continuum of care” to the socially liable
regardless of race, color, creed, national origin or sexual
orientation. This concept is rooted in the fact that
ex-offenders are socially liable and maybe HIV+, hardcore
unemployed, homeless, chemically dependent and/or moderately
mentally challenged. Some within this group are sex
offenders. This group requires a wide range of social,
supportive and case management services. Negative conditions
have developed over time and to such an extent that
ex-offenders have little or no control over their lives.
Until and unless these issues are resolved, this population
will continue to self-destruct.
NB is a minority 501(c)
3 tax-exempt agency. Using a combination of social,
supportive and case management services, we have been able
to help ex-offenders become positive, constructive and
driven persons. We have employed a combination of psych
medication, a controlled living environment and psychiatric
group therapy (behavior modification) to help those that are
mentally ill. We also utilize the Earnfare Program as a
means of helping clients who are unable to pay their
residency fee.
We are applying to the
Illinois Department of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (DASA)
for a license to help those that are hopelessly addicted to
a controlled substance. We will utilized drug treatment and
counseling along with a strict regimen of structured,
restrictive, residential living in a clean and sober living
environment and help the chemically dependent persons to
achieve what they thought they could not achieve. We believe
in a “hand-up” as opposed to a “hand-out.” We encourage
“self-reliance.”
Unlike other agencies,
our clients are not forced to move, after a preset
period-of-time. Those who choose to remain are welcome and
may live in our permanent residences for as long as they
like. We do not discriminate.
